Come build with us!\nRole and Responsibilities\nAs a Performance Architect within our System IP team, you will play a critical role in designing and optimizing the performance of our System IP, balancing requirements from key system components including CPU, GPU, and other IP blocks. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining performance models, analyzing system performance, and identifying optimization opportunities to improve overall system efficiency. Your expertise in performance modeling, analysis, and C++ coding will be essential in driving the development of high-performance System IP solutions.\nThis role is open to being hired at various levels, based on the individual’s background, experience, and skillset.\nDevelop and maintain cycle-accurate C++ performance models for System IP components.\nAnalyze system performance using various metrics, such as latency, throughput, and power consumption, to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.\nCreate and run benchmarks to characterize system performance and identify areas for improvement.\nBuild and maintain performance analysis tools.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including architecture, design, and software teams, to identify and implement performance optimization opportunities.\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to the development of best practices and standards for performance modeling and analysis.\nWork closely with other teams, including CPU, GPU, and SoC architecture teams, to ensure that System IP components meet performance and power requirements.\nSkills and Qualifications\nMinimum Requirements:\n10+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or 8+ years of experience with a Master’s Degree, or 6+ years of experience with a Ph.D.\nExpertise in performance modeling, analysis, and optimization, with a focus on System IP components.\nStrong C++ coding skills, with experience with cycle-accurate performance models and analysis tools.\nStrong understanding of computer architecture, microarchitecture, and system-level performance optimization.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and optimize performance bottlenecks.\nStrong technical leadership and mentoring skills, with experience guiding junior engineers.\nNice to Have:\nProfessional experience in memory subsystem or interconnect, with knowledge of memory hierarchy, memory access patterns, bandwidth, and latency optimization, is a big plus.\nProgramming skills in Python or R, with experience in data analysis, visualization, and automation.\nFamiliarity with emerging technologies, such as AI, ML, and autonomous systems, and their impact on System IP performance.\nOur Team\nOur System IP team develops proprietary coherent interconnect and memory controller deployed in many high-volume products. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $151,000 and $226,600. Your actual base pay will depend on variables that may include your education skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. This is an exempt position, which is not eligible for overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).\nSamsung employees have access to benefits including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), free onsite lunch, employee purchase program, tuition assistance (after 6 months), paid time off, student loan program, wellness incentives, and many more.
