Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, planning work, determining techniques to be used, supervising and training crew personnel.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned).\nDemonstrate & promote safety leadership (i.e. Morning safety meetings & completing JSAs)\nResponsible for organization and housekeeping on barge at all times\nResponsible for planning, prepping, laying out, assembling, and installing of equipment and materials.\nExamine & inspect work progress, equipment, and work sites to verify safety & to ensure that specifications are met.\nTrain workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and company policies.\nAssign work to employees, based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs.\nConduct meetings with crew to schedule and coordinate the activities to be accomplished during the week. Direct crew throughout the week to assure successful completion\nAssist Superintendent with timely job close-out and punch list completion\nMaintain neat and orderly job-site and personal appearance\nInspect, operate and maintain tools and equipment needed on the job.\n\nEducation/Experience:\nMust have experience in inland marine construction, pipeline fabrication & maintenance, and pile driving.\nMarine construction experience as a Foreman, Supervisor, and/or Superintendent\nHigh School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); Over 2 years, up to and including 4 years\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nBarge Supervisors may directly supervise 15-20 employees on the Barge and/or other remote locations and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include mentoring employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing.\n\nPhysical Demands:\nThe employee must frequently lift, move and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.\nBarge Supervisors must be willing to comply with PCM Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and regulations, as well as all local, state and governmental regulations.\nThe above description covers some of the principal duties and responsibilities of the job.
