Job DetailsDescriptionSUMMARY:The person in this position operates equipment as part of a crew to build, repair, or maintain track. This is a field position with extensive travel required. Work hours may include a nonstandard work week and overtime.This position is 75% travel between Lima, OH, Columbus, OH, & Cincinnati, OH.Pay Rate: $28.50ResponsibilitiesOperate equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with regulations, policies, and proceduresPerform equipment safety and maintenance checksReport any and all defects or needed repairs to supervisorParticipate in job briefings and understand daily production goalsPerform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and adjustments to equipment as neededFill out and maintain required regulatory formsPromote a safe and drug-free working environmentManage other projects and perform other duties as assignedRequired Skills And/Or ExperienceAt least two years of verifiable experience operating railroad maintenance-of-way equipmentAbility to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment problemsAbility to understand and carry out oral and written communication, both general and technicalAbility to occasionally lift up to sixty poundsAbility to operate equipment in varying working and weather conditionsRequired Education And/Or CredentialsHigh school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceValid driver’s license requiredCommercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plusThis position is employed by the specific entity set forth in the job posting.Genesee & Wyoming Inc. and its subsidiary companies do not discriminate in employment on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, membership in an employee organization, retaliation, parental status, military service, or any other protected status under federal, state or local laws.
