Our company encourages diversity and inclusion in all its forms while our products make the world a more beautiful, safer, and sustainable home.\n\nWhat's the job?\nThe Process Engineer will manage project initiatives designed to improve the effectiveness of the manufacturing process in the areas of productivity, efficiency and quality to ensure that all products, processes and procedures are in compliance with established CertainTeed quality and manufacturing policies and specifications so that we can consistently meet or exceed our customer expectations.\n\nThis position provides effective leadership for all plant staff operating procedures wherever they impact process or product quality, and must implement and/or recommend necessary changes within the organization so that the plant achieves the highest possible finished product quality at the lowest possible cost. This position acts as a liaison between all the major departments: production, engineering, maintenance, logistics and quality.\n\nJob Duties And Responsibilities\n\nDevelops, directs and maintains process improvement objectives following WCM philosophies to maximize safety, productivity, quality and efficiency.\n\nDevelops effective teamwork and utilizes innovation to achieve department goals.\n\nProvides general technical support and leadership to the plant supervisory and hourly employees.\n\nReport all EH&S incidents - Injuries/incidents, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage.\n\nConduct behavior- based audits and 5S audits as well as support plants EHS goals.\n\nParticipate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.\n\nAnalyze production data and apply SPC, DOE, and other statistical tools to identify and eliminate process variation.\n\nDevelop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through startup and stabilization.\n\nPartner with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to troubleshoot issues, implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and improve process capability.\n\nConduct process flow studies and system simulations to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.\n\nProvide clear process documentation, operating instructions, and training to hourly and salaried teammates.\n\nIntroduce and integrate new technologies, raw materials, and methods to improve efficiency and product performance.\n\nPlan, coordinate, and evaluate production trials in collaboration with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.\n\nWork closely with the Quality Systems Manager to ensure consistent SPC deployment and process monitoring.\n\nCoordinate with Engineering teams on capital projects that increase the efficiency of the production line\n\nMay be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.\n\nContinuous Improvement\n\nLead and support Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM initiatives to drive cost reduction, yield improvement, and throughput gains.\n\nIS THIS JOB FOR YOU?\nQualifications\n\nMinimum 4-year degree in Engineering is required\n\nSix Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience\n\nGeneral understanding of ISO methodology (ISO 9001, 14001, & OHSAS 18001)\n\nFamiliarity with 5S & Continuous Improvement Methodology\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\n\nProficient in use of MS Office\n\nFamiliarity with AutoCAD is a plus\n\na Little More About Us\nThrough the responsible development of innovative and sustainable building products, CertainTeed , headquartered in Malvern, Pennsylvania, has helped shape the building products industry for more than 110 years.
