Quality Manager/Quality Engineer
Job Description Summary:
Management and compliance of the Quality Management System, ensuring all deliverables meet quality expectations and internal and external customer quality requirements are achieved. Work closely with engineering and suppliers to ensure that fabrication and assembly quality expectations are met. This includes proactive vetting and corrective action when quality escapes occur.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and re-enforce quality standards throughout the company.
Ensure Quality Management System (QMS) processes and documents are established, implemented and maintained.
Ensure QMS performance, data and metrics are reviewed at planned intervals to guarantee continued suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness.
Analyze data and metrics for effectiveness of the QMS system and evaluate opportunities for improvement.
Prepare for and manage quality audits including internal, Customer, Government and regulatory agency inspections, including AS9100 audits
Provide training recommendations to employee base and ensure training records are kept up to date.
Establish and implement a supplier quality evaluation and surveillance process.
Lead execution of product quality systems, including SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Reports), NPRs (Nonconforming Product Reports), Deviations and Waivers.
Collaborate with engineering during product design to determine feasibility to effectively manufacture products to achieve cost, quality and delivery milestones.
Conducts exploration and development of design methods to improve manufacturing results.
Reviews specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful manufacturability feedback
Preferred Knowledge/Ability:
· In-depth knowledge of Quality Control procedures and best practices
· Experience with ISO administration and compliance, in particular ISO 9001 and AS9100
· Experience managing processes and databases
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
· Skilled at reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports
· Demonstrated knowledge of all types of precision inspection tools used in manufacturing and inspection processes
Preferred Education/Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent experience
· 7 + years in related quality experience
· Minimum of 3-5 years related manufacturing experience
· Experience with fostering and building vendor relationships for the betterment of quality
· Experience in manufacturing or assembly processes
