Through the generous support of the Walmart Foundation and others, the Jones Center provides Access for Everyone membership scholarships to local families.\n\nAbout the Position\nThis position provides practical experience in community center operations, event support, and customer service. Additionally, it provides the opportunity to develop transferable workplace skills, including communication, organization, teamwork, and problem-solving. Students will work in a fast-paced, community-oriented environment.\n\nJob Summary\nThe Work-Study student will support daily operations and guest services functions at the Jones Center. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience in facility operation and guest service while supporting the center’s mission to serve members and guests. The work may require flexible working hours that include evening and weekend responsibilities.\n\nMain Responsibilities\nGuest Services\n\nGreet members/guests, answer questions, and provide a welcoming environment.\nAssist with program registrations, membership inquiries, and general information requests.\nOperations Support\n\nAssist in daily operations in the ice arena, pool, gym, and all areas of the Jones Center.\nAssist with facility set-up and tear-down for classes, programs, and special events.\nSupport staff with maintaining clean, safe, and organized community spaces.\nMonitor facility usage and report maintenance or safety issues.\nAdministrative Support\n\nHelp process memberships, registrations, waivers, and other paperwork.\nTeam Collaboration\n\nWork closely with the operations and all teams to ensure a positive guest experience.\nProvide input and ideas to improve guest services and daily operations.\nOther responsibilities\n\nKnow our Emergency Action Plan procedures for the assigned area and be able to recognize and respond quickly and appropriately to any medical emergency.\nMaintain and uphold the policies and procedures of the Jones Center.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nQualifications\n\nMust be a current student eligible for the Federal Work Study Program.\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nReliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.\nBasic computer skills (Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace).\nWillingness to learn and take initiative.\nWork Schedule\n\nPart-time, flexible schedule based on class commitments.\nMust be available for some evenings and weekends, depending on events and programming.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to remain stationary, occasionally standing or sitting for prolonged periods.\nOccasionally, the ability to lift 25 pounds is required.
