Deliver for America’s health agency missions and enhance lives for hundreds of millions every day.\n\nJob Description\n\nGDIT has an immediate opportunity for a Virtualization Systems Engineer with extensive experience in Kernel-based Virtual Machines (KVM). In this role you will be an active member of the HIGLAS-HOM Windows Virtualization Team, act as the subject matter expert for KVM, as well as perform installations, upgrades, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, patching, securing and repair of Windows servers in a VMware environment. The right candidate will work well with a team, exhibit excellent customer service skills at all times and be self-motivated seeking ways to improve the environment.\n\nGDIT is supporting Hosting, Operations and Maintenance (HOM) services for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Healthcare Integrated General Ledger Accounting System (HIGLAS) program. On this program, GDIT is responsible for providing proactive and predicative Operational management and engineering support of the HIGLAS enterprise environment.\n\nMEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT\n\nProvide technical knowledge in the areas of system installation, troubleshooting and problem resolution.\nSets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation and installs system-wide software.\nPerform system updates, implement changes in multiple environments from test or development to production.\nMonitor infrastructure, systems operations, and critical application services 24/7; provide information and statistics relevant to system limits on capacity, data storage, system utilization, etc.; respond to critical outages and restore services within agreed upon service levels.\nSupport Virtualization technology using KVM, VMware vSphere, vCenter, VCF Operations, etc.\nMonitoring and administration of Operating system and its components (Disks, mount points, Packages, Users etc.)\n\nWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED\nBring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT.
