At CHL Systems, we recognize the immense value of developing a strong team and a supportive culture.\nAn exciting position is currently available for a Layout & Development Engineer. This position will work with Applications Engineers to translate concepts to preliminary layout drawings/sales drawings, prepare equipment lists, meet with customers, and take detailed measurements of the existing facilities and equipment, to produce 2-D or 3-D drawing packages.\n\nResponsibilities:\nAnalyze and assist in developing material handling systems and equipment within the food processing and industrial automation space.\nCreate 2-D or 3-D drawings of concepts utilizing appropriate software tools.\nTake concepts from Applications Engineers and the project team, to develop a concept layout with system scope to define the solution.\nParticipate in proposal development, concept development, and machine component sizing.\nRead and interpret data sheets and component specifications. Must be able to evaluate options and choose parts that fit the larger system.\nAnalyze facility layouts and manipulate layout to show system concepts in a facility environment.\nContribute to the preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.\nProvide status and progress reports to project team, and management as required.\nWork closely with Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Technical Service to understand system requirements and develop workable design concepts and cost estimates.\nKey focus on design for manufacturability and operator safety\nAssist Sales personnel in describing concept systems for use in preparing proposals.\nTravel up to 10% as required.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\nA.S.
