Supported by a team of experienced surveyors and the use of advanced equipment and software, you will help deliver high-quality survey results that drive engineering and planning decisions.The most successful candidate for this position will enjoy working in an outdoor environment and will demonstrate the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, planners, and project managers. Named the #1 firm to work for in 2025 by Zweig Group , you'll be part of a team that values your impact, supports your growth, and celebrates your success every step of the way.What You'll DoTaking field measurements and stakeout of survey projects in Horizons' areas of operationBoundary surveying, topographical construction surveying/stakeout, Right-of-Way surveying, engineering surveys, land records research, and any other associated tasks with land surveyingOperation of various survey equipmentConduct field surveys using various surveying instrumentsAccurately measure distances, angles, and elevations to collect essential survey dataOperate and maintain surveying equipment to ensure proper functionalityPerform routine calibrations and adjustments to guarantee the accuracy of measurementsWork closely with the Crew Chief and other team members to execute survey projects efficientlyAssist in setting up and tearing down survey equipment at project sitesDownload and organize collected field data for further processingAssist in the preparation of survey drawings and reportsAdhere to safety protocols and guidelines during field surveys to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environmentReport any safety concerns promptlyParticipate in site reconnaissance activities to assess conditions and potential challenges before initiating surveysMaintain accurate and detailed records of survey activities, measurements, and field notesAssist in the preparation of project documentationWhat You BringHigh School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate's Degree preferred0-3 years of professional experience in the practice of land surveying in northern New England or a similar setting.Must have NH SIT Certification or be actively working toward obtaining NH licensureExperience with AutoCAD design software, including Civil3D, a plusFamiliarity with surveying instruments and equipmentBasic understanding of surveying principles and techniquesCapable of working primarily in an outdoor work environment and occasional office environmentMust be able to carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 80 lbs. occasionally with or without accommodation, sometimes over substantial distancesMust have a valid driver's licenseSalary Range:Salary starting at $30.00/hour based on experience and licensure.Benefits:Flexible Work EnvironmentPaid Parental LeaveMedicalDentalVisionLife and AD&D InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term Disability401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time Off + HolidaysVerdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
