This position requires a highly skilled professional who can integrate development, security, and operations practices while navigating the unique challenges of government cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, particularly AWS GovCloud, and a deep understanding of security principles and compliance requirements in government IT environments. They will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and efficient cloud infrastructure for multiple environments (e.g., development, testing, staging, production) of the new application. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks, automating processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across teams. The DevSecOps Architect will be instrumental in establishing best practices for cloud-native application development, enhancing our security posture, and enabling agile and efficient operations.\n\nQualifications:\n\nAt least seven years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or related field\n\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field\n\nProficiency in AWS services, particularly within the GovCloud environment\n\nStrong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices\n\nExpertise in Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform)\n\nProficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)\n\nProven experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines\n\nKnowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools\n\nKnowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, ECS)\n\nFamiliarity with monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Grafana)\n\nUnderstanding of networking concepts and implementation in cloud environments\n\nExperience with identity and access management in cloud settings\n\nProficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git)\n\nExperience with testing frameworks (e.g., unit testing, automated testing)\n\nLeadership experience and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration\n\nSPLUNK is a plus\n\nExperience working with Federal Agencies and with the NIST 800.53 FISMA standard and process is a plus\n\nAt least one of the following or its equivalent:\n\nAWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional\n\nDocker or Kubernetes certifications\n\nGitLab Certified Git Associate\n\nGitLab Certified CI/CD Associate\n\nGitLab Certified Security Specialist\n\nHashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate\n\nCapabilities:\n\nDevOps strategy development and implementation\n\nContinuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipeline management\n\nAutomated testing and test-driven development\n\nCloud-based infrastructure automation and configuration\n\nSecurity policy development and implementation\n\nDevOps tools and technology research and evaluation\n\nContainerization and container orchestration\n\nMicroservices architecture design and implementation\n\nAutomation and orchestration framework design\n\nCross-functional team collaboration\n\nDocumentation and process improvement\n\nSystem One is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
