In this role, you will lead technology implementation, build resilient server-side services, and ensure high availability for 24/7 mission-critical financial applications.\nThis is a hybrid position based in New York City with standard daytime business hours and on-call rotation support for incident response.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nFull Stack Development: Build, maintain, and optimize responsive front-end interfaces using Angular/TypeScript and robust back-end APIs using Python (Django/Flask).\nSystem Availability & Reliability: Architect systems for high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery in a 24/7 production environment.\nDatabase Management: Design database schemas and tune high-performance SQL across RDBMS platforms (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Amazon RDS).\nCloud Architecture: Deploy, manage, and monitor infrastructure on AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch).\nIncident & Production Support: Conduct initial investigations, root cause analyses, recovery executions, and permanent fixes during incident handling.\nCross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with InfoSec, QA, project managers, and external vendors to align technical execution with business requirements and regulatory audit standards.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nEducation: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.\nExperience: 7+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience utilizing Python (Django or Flask) and Angular / TypeScript / JavaScript.\nDatabase Expertise: Proven experience with schema design, indexing, and SQL performance tuning on RDBMS (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).\nCloud & Infrastructure: Direct experience with Linux operating environments and cloud computing platforms (preferably AWS).\nMonitoring & Tooling: Hands-on experience with system monitoring (CloudWatch) and version control/DevOps pipelines (TFS / Azure DevOps).\nAvailability: Willingness and ability to participate in an on-call rotation / shift schedule (including evening, weekend, or holiday response when incidents arise).\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nPrior experience designing and supporting 24/7 mission-critical financial systems or enterprise-scale web services.\nExperience setting up non-functional requirements (SLA, RTO/RPO, audit logging, security).\nHands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines and establishing auto-scaling/redundancy mechanisms.\n\nWork Conditions & Perks\n\nWork Style: Standard business hours with rotational shift/on-call incident response.\nTime Off: Two days off per week, paid leave, and compensatory time off for weekend/shift coverage.\nWorkplace: Hybrid model (NYC Office / Remote flexibility per bank policy).\n\nWho is Calance?\nCalance is a global IT company with operations in the United States, Canada and India.
