Travel to client sites is required.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nCustomer Focus: Effectively and compellingly communicate Broadcom's key capabilities to address customer and partner needs\r\nFinancial Targets: Meet or exceed Broadcom's stated financial quotas and targets\r\nInternal Business Processes: Demonstrate mastery of Broadcom's internal processes, systems, and support structure\r\nProfessional Development: Demonstrate high-level proficiency and skill\r\nLeadership, Teamwork, and Planning: Collaborate with, and effectively run virtual team(s)\r\nCustomer Focus\r\nAssist the Broadcom Account Director, Solution Architect, and/or Partner Account Director in technically qualifying solutions and their benefits to customers and/or partners.\r\nWork closely with the account team and the customer or partner to gain a deep understanding of the customer's technology needs or the partner's offerings, and to architect a solution that meets them.\r\nBuild relationships across customers' or partners' IT silos and offerings to understand, build, document, and share our knowledge of their infrastructure, challenges, and potential technical impact of planned projects.\r\nUnderstand and act as a valued resource early and often within the customer's decision-making process (e.g., during the idea or conceptual stages).\r\nExecute and/or coordinate complex product integration demonstrations and proofs of concept, tailoring them as needed to address the customer's specific needs and environment.\r\nMaintain a deep technical knowledge of the products developed by the mainframe division of Broadcom.\r\nProvide technical specifications and requirements documentation as necessary to support the proposed solution.\r\nEffectively position and present the benefits of Broadcom's solutions, specifically how they will support the client's technical and functional requirements.\r\nProvide technical leadership and oversight during Trials, Proof-of-Concept (POCs), complex demos, etc., as warranted.\r\nEnsure the technical requirements of the proposed solution are clearly communicated to and understood by the client, and that they meet the client's expectations.\r\nEffectively communicate Broadcom's key competitive differentiators, by solution as defined by Broadcom product groups.\r\nFoster and build relationships with customers and partners to develop references.\r\nStrive to constantly improve the quality of all customer interactions.\r\nPrimary Functions\r\nAnalyzes user and data requirements and provides related solution modeling and implementation.\r\nReviews proposed solution plans for Broadcom Software infrastructure products and related actionable results.\r\nEvaluates solution design, upgrade, conversion from other infrastructure products, and implementation approaches.\r\nConducts hardware/software comparative evaluations as they relate to infrastructure solutions.\r\nTechnical solution trouble shooter and post-implementation support.\r\nPossess, in principle, an understanding of the major subsystems such as JES, CICS, MQ series, DB2, IMS, and VSAM.\r\nPossess, in principle, an understanding of the enterprise security managers such as ACF2, TSS, and RACF.\r\nActs as a consultant in studying and recommending actions on a wide variety of technical areas regarding infrastructure management, providing guidance to customer management and technical resources.\r\nCommunicates current innovations and trends in infrastructure management solutions.\r\nTechnical consultant and reference source.\r\nAbility to implement or upgrade a broad range of Broadcom Software infrastructure products such as SYSVIEW, OPS/MVS, NetMaster, Mainframe Application Tuner, Common Services, etc.\r\nAbility to script or code a quick implementation to solve the conversion from other products.\r\nTechnical Skills\r\nUnderstanding of mainframe infrastructure management concepts and practices.\r\nUnderstanding and implementation of Broadcom Software mainframe products or similar.\r\nProficient with REXX and/or HLASM programming languages.\r\n10+ years' experience with Broadcom Software mainframe products or similar.\r\n10+ years' experience with z/OS.\r\nFamiliarity with BMC, IBM, and Rocket mainframe products is a plus.\r\nExperience with z/VSE and z/VM is a big plus, but not required.\r\nPeople and Communication Skills\r\nAbility to listen to client requirements and organize them into a list of business needs and objectives.\r\nAbility to provide written communication back to the project manager and customer regarding build and integrate instructions, assigned task status, and ability to communicate through channels such as knowledge transfer instructions to run the solution after implementation is complete.\r\nAbility to follow a communication plan established by the project manager.\r\nAbility to document clearly all the aspects listed above, and ability to clearly communicate in writing project statuses, task status, and communicate in writing build and integration results from implementations.\r\nAbility to do technical presentations and product demonstrations internally and externally.\r\nKey Requirements\r\nA senior consultant will have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8+ years of experience in IT.
