This role helps ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately, inventory is maintained properly, and warehouse operations are conducted safely and efficiently. Success in this position contributes directly to Van Meter's ability to be our customers' competitive advantage through operational excellence, teamwork, and exceptional service.\n\nSchedule:\n\nSunday night through Friday morning, 9 PM - 5:30 AM\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nThe essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:\n\nPick and process customer pipe, wire, and conduit orders\nReceive, unload, inspect, and put away inbound commodity shipments\nOperate forklifts and material handling equipment safely\nPrepare, stage, load, and secure materials for customer and branch deliveries\nMaintain inventory accuracy and report discrepancies\nPerform routine equipment inspections and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment\nSupport cross-training, operational coverage, and continuous improvement initiatives\nRequirements:\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nHigh school diploma or GED\nAbility to lift and/or move up to 75lbs with or without assistance\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout an entire shift\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy\nStrong communication and problem solving skills\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nPrevious warehouse or distribution center experience\nExperience operating forklifts, or other similar powered equipment\nExperience with handheld RF scanners\nKnowledge of Eclipse or similar inventory management systems\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nFrequently stand and walk on hard surfaces throughout the entire workday\nFrequently lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials up to 50lbs\nOccasionally lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials up to 75lbs\nFrequently bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions\nOccasionally climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, and balance\nFrequent use of hands and fingers for material handling and equipment operation\nFrequent use of vision, depth perception and color recognition for inventory handling, equipment operation, and safety signals\nFrequent operation of forklifts and warehouse equipment\nAbility to hear verbal instructions, equipment alarms, and other safety warnings\n\nWorking Conditions:\n\nPrimarily warehouse and distribution center work environment\nExposure to varying temperatures including heat, cold, humidity, and other seasonal weather changes\nModerate warehouse noise levels\nOccasional exposure to dust, odors, fumes, vibrations, and mechanical hazards\nIndoor work with occasional outdoor exposure\nExtended shifts, overtime, or flexible scheduling may be required to meet business needs\nRequired use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel toe shoes, gloves, and safety glasses\n\nVan Meter is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to qualified individuals with disabilities.
