Special Education Teaching Positions Available We are seeking Special Education Teachers for the next school year in Kansas City, KS. Multiple openings are available across elementary, middle, and high school settings, with both classroom-based and itinerant roles available. This position will support students with a range of disabilities, from mild to severe needs, and requires a strong understanding of IEP development, behavioral support, classroom management, and differentiated instruction. Position Details: Location: Kansas City, KS School Year: 2026-2027 Grade Levels: Elementary, Middle, and High School Caseloads: Mild to severe needs Role Types: Classroom-based and itinerant opportunities available Pay: Based on years of experience and educational background Responsibilities: The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning, behavioral, and developmental needs. Responsibilities may include:Develop, implement, and monitor student Individualized Education ProgramsProvide direct instruction aligned with student goals and state standardsModify and adapt curriculum based on student needsSupport students with academic, behavioral, social, and functional skill developmentManage caseload documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance requirementsCollaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and school staffAttend and participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and team conferencesImplement behavior intervention plans and support positive behavioral strategiesMaintain strong classroom management and create a structured, supportive learning environmentSupport students across mild, moderate, and severe disability categories as assignedTravel between school sites as needed for itinerant positions Requirements:Active Kansas state teaching license w/ appropriate endorsementsExperience with IEPs, progress monitoring, and special education complianceFamiliarity with Kansas special education procedures and documentation Summary: This is a strong opportunity for Special Education Teachers who are comfortable supporting diverse caseloads and working across a variety of school settings.
