As a CDL Truck Driver your responsibilities include hauling, handling and safely transport custom service, mechanic, lube, and other trucks for Local and regional distances.\nInterstate Assembly Systems is a leading manufacturer of quality service vehicles, commercial power generation equipment, and leading distributor of high-performance diesel and gas engines for many applications and industries.\nThis position will be responsible for product deliveries, as well as some warehouse duties.\nJob Duties:\nOperates vehicles with a capacity of more than 3 tons to and from customer locations and job sites (Local and Regional distances with the possibility of overnight trips).\nResponsible to maintain and carry all necessary documents to include CDL, HAZMAT, D.O.T., and proof of company vehicle insurance. Transportation Worker Identification Credential – as required.\nComplete all necessary inspection reports for outgoing and returned equipment, completing logbook and trip sheets meeting all D.O.T. and company record keeping requirements.\nKnowledge of Dealer/Manufacturer Licensing and Laws with regards to transporting all classes of vehicles, including trailers, and generators.\nAccurately documents delivery, prepares receipts of orders by customers, and reports any discrepancies to the company. Obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.\nSets own schedule daily to support the needs of the Project Managers and Sales Team.\nCommunicates directly with the Project Managers and Sales Team to seek clarity of task.\nResponsible to ensure all loads/vehicles are in legally compliant before leaving SWP.\nEnsures proper loading, unloading, and securing of equipment/vehicles.\nAssist with pictures of equipment/vehicles as directed by the project managers and sales team.\nReceive incoming vehicle chassis by verifying paperwork and processing of all necessary documents per the project managers and sales team direction.\nDemonstrate Customer Service Standards for pickup and delivery service.\nAbility to demonstrate proper and safe equipment usage to the customer at point of delivery.\nAccurately documents delivery, prepares receipts of orders by customers, and reports any discrepancies to the company. Obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.\nCollects payment for goods delivered (as needed) and records transactions on proper paperwork.\nConduct weekly startup/function check of all vehicles for maintaining battery life. Maintain maintenance log on all chassis in yard.\nCheck in all new chassis that arrive in yard. Input information on Record 360.\nMonitor and fill portable fuel tanks as needed.\nRequired to report accidents or violations immediately to your direct supervisor\nIncreases job knowledge and product knowledge on an ongoing basis.\nUtilizing Forklifts/Lifting devices to load, unload, and move material safely.\nSECONDARY DUTIES: Hours not driving or performing other vehicle related duties, the individual will backfill working in the warehouse to support production.\nDesired Qualities/Skills:\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.\nAbility to follow and conduct instructions with minimal supervision.\nA positive customer service attitude.\nKnowledge of local major and minor roadways and the ability to effectively use maps and directions for efficient delivery routing.\nDemonstrate an elevated level of safety awareness on the roadways\nExhibit professional defensive driving techniques to protect equipment and other drivers\nForklift Operation\nPosition Requirements:\nTraditional work schedule to include occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet business needs.\nAbility to perform basic math functions\nAbility to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds, frequently required to walk, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee occasionally may be required to perform forceful use of hands, wrist, and forearms.
