We encourage students to get involved on campus, approach faculty and staff with ideas, questions and concerns and take advantage of the resources that will help all succeed.\nFor additional information regarding the Department of Student Involvement and Belonging (SIB), may be found here: https://www.oit.edu/campus-life\nPosition Summary\nThe Student Involvement & Belonging (SIB)/Basic Needs Coordinator creates and supports a holistic student experience, responsible for supporting the vision, initiatives, programs, and daily operations for Portland-Metro students.\nIn the SIB space, the Coordinator will coordinate Student Involvement & Belonging programs and initiatives, collaborating with partners across the university to ensure a student-centered approach to the creation and implementation of programming that enhances a student’s sense of belonging and increases student leadership development and cultural competency.\nThe Coordinator will use research, data, and assessment to support the development and implementation of a co-curricular journey that enhances students’ belonging and leadership development. The Coordinator provides advising and support for Registered Student Organizations and helps to create campus-wide student engagement opportunities, such as large-scale social events, including Music Garden. The Coordinator will support student leadership and cultural competency development, diversity and belonging programming, and support the operations and programming of Student Involvement & Belonging in collaboration with the Assistant Director of SIB (Portland-Metro).\nThis position also serves as the Portland-Metro campus Benefits Navigator. Through Basic Needs initiatives, this position coordinates trauma-informed case management and direct support to students experiencing housing and food insecurity, mental health challenges, and other barriers to well-being. The Coordinator connects students with local, state, and federal resources, coordinates campus-based basic needs programs, and builds strong, trust-based relationships to empower students through an equity-centered lens.\nThe SIB/Basic Needs Coordinator works within Portland-Metro Student Services to provide programs and services students need to achieve academic, personal, and professional goals.\nMinimum Requirements\nBachelor’s degree and 1 (one) year of relevant experience in an education setting.
