Everyone is committed to delivering highly stable and quality driven software products that impact people's lives.\r\nThings you'll be working on Feature driven development in a remote collaborative team environment.\r\nDesign, develop, unit test, and maintain secure applications and services across a variety of private and public sector clients around the world.\r\nInterface with external data sources using a large variety of protocols.\r\nPerform peer-reviews of solution designs, architectures, and related code.\r\nLeverage cloud services provided by Azure or AWS to host and deliver all services.\r\nImplement ITS device-level protocols to support integration with the inSIGHT Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS).\r\nDevelop new microservices to meet new functional needs of the system, handling design and software architecture roles.\r\nRole accountabilities Implement ITS device-level protocols to allow for new device types or new functionality to be incorporated into the inSIGHT ATMS software.\r\nCreate new software microservices as needed to provide new functionality into the core of the system.\r\nDesign services to communicate with field devices across various network topologies.\r\nDevelop new functionality in the Graphical User Interface to support new features.\r\nDefine automated unit tests to ensure quality and correctness of service logic.\r\nPerform peer-reviews of solution designs, architectures, and related code.\r\nInterface with external data sources using a large variety of protocols.\r\nPerform manipulation, analysis, and processing of geospatial data.\r\nOptimize the data storage and retrieval to the inSIGHT ATMS database.\r\nIdentify and take steps to mitigate common security risks, participate in security reviews, and ensure compliance with standards.\r\nProvide support and assistance when troubleshooting issues in the system, to support the delivery teams with new software deployments, system updates, and issues as they arise.\r\nWork with ATMS operations staff as well as client technical staff as needed to investigate protocol-related issues with devices and to assist with integration and acceptance testing of new device or protocol implementations.\r\nTechnical Leadership Provide technical expertise as needed to other software developers on the team.\r\nAid in technical decision making within the team, evaluating different options for best fit.\r\nPerform code reviews and provide guidance and constructive feedback, advocating for best practices within the team.\r\nReview and advise on effort estimates and feature requests from clients with respect to new or expanded device integration.\r\nMentor staff to grow the core competency of the team for device service development and protocol implementation capabilities.\r\nPromote a culture of continuous learning within the team.\r\nQualifications & Experience Minimum 7 years software development experience.\r\nPractical knowledge and experience with .NET and C#, Web API, SignalR.\r\nExperience with front-end technologies, Angular and TypeScript in particular.\r\nConfident, clear communication on both technical and non-technical matters.\r\nStrong understanding of the full software development life cycle, including best practices.\r\nUnderstanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.\r\nExperience delivering and maintaining customer facing production systems.\r\nExperience with SQL Server, including developing database queries, optimization, and database support.\r\nCommitted to continuous learning and applying emerging technologies with sound engineering judgment.\r\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.\r\nNice to Have Practical experience with low-level protocol implementations for devices and/or IoT.\r\nExperience with protocols for ITS field devices including NTCIP, TMDD, Modbus, and SNMP.\r\nPractical knowledge and experience with C++, C, or other low-level languages.\r\nSoftware developers, Business Analysts, QA staff, and Development Team Leads on the ATMS Team.\r\nATMS delivery and support staff to assist in detailed troubleshooting of device/protocol level issues.\r\nClient technical staff during testing, acceptance, for troubleshooting/support activities.\r\nBenefits Arcadis offers benefits for full-time and part-time positions.
