All programs must be delivered efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while meeting quality and effectiveness standards.Essential Job FunctionsLeadership & StrategyLead, coach, and develop a team of instructional designers and content developersEstablish content standards, templates, and development processesSet priorities and roadmaps aligned to business goals and performance gapsAllocate work and manage team capacity, timelines, and deliverablesConduct performance reviews and support team capability growthInstructional Design & Content Development (Hands-On)Design and develop engaging learning solutions including eLearning, classroom, virtual, blended, and microlearning formatsTranslate Business Requirements Into Performance-based Learning ExperiencesPartner with subject matter experts to rapidly prototype and iterate contentApply adult learning principles and modern instructional design practicesCreate scalable and reusable learning assetsContent Operations & GovernanceOversee intake, development, and maintenance processes for all training contentMaintain documentation, communication plans, prioritization, and roadmapsManage content lifecycle, version control, and approvalsEnsure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standardsTrack initiatives from inception through maintenanceStakeholder & Business PartnershipPartner with corporate business leaders, stores, and distribution centers to assess training needsGather requirements and identify gaps or opportunities to improve performanceCommunicate progress, risks, and outcomes with stakeholders and leadershipConduct site visits as required to validate effectiveness and adoptionMeasurement & Continuous ImprovementMonitor learning effectiveness through feedback, usage data, and performance metricsAnalyze results and recommend enhancementsDrive continuous improvement of content and processesVendor & Technology ManagementPartner with LMS architecture team for deployment of learning technologiesEvaluate, select, and manage third-party content and vendorsSupport buy-versus-build decisionsOversee budgets and contracts related to learning contentSkills/Education/ExperienceRequired:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience5+ years instructional design, content development, or learning program management experience in a large-scale corporate environment2+ years leading or mentoring content or instructional design teamsExperience with LMS platforms and eLearning authoring toolsStrong project management, planning, and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal, collaboration, negotiation, and influencing skillsExperience with content governance, maintenance, and version controlAbility to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiencesStrong business and operational acumenPreferredExperience supporting retail, operations, warehouse, or frontline environmentsExperience managing vendors and external partnersFamiliarity with Agile or iterative development methodologiesExperience with digital learning or AI-enabled content toolsBackground in performance consulting or change managementO’Reilly Auto Parts has a proven track record of growth and stability.
