Senior Marketing legal Counsel

We are seeking an experienced legal professional to provide strategic legal support for marketing, advertising, promotional, sponsorship, and commercial initiatives. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, balancing legal risk management with business objectives while supporting a fast-paced, consumer-focused organization.Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial ContractingDraft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements, including:Marketing and advertising agreementsAgency agreementsSponsorship agreementsPromotional partnership agreementsProduction services agreementsVendor and technology contractsSupport contract lifecycle management and risk assessment.Marketing & Advertising Legal SupportReview and advise on digital and physical marketing materials, creative assets, campaigns, press releases, and public communications.Counsel stakeholders on advertising law compliance and consumer protection requirements.Provide legal guidance related to endorsements, promotions, contests, sweepstakes, intellectual property, licensing, and publicity rights.Business Partnership & Risk ManagementServe as the primary legal advisor to marketing and business teams.Provide practical, business-focused legal guidance that enables growth while mitigating risk.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product, Finance, Operations, and executive leadership.Legal Operations & Process ImprovementDevelop and maintain contract templates, legal playbooks, policies, and guidance materials.Deliver training programs to business stakeholders on legal and compliance matters.Maintain legal review processes, approval tracking, documentation controls, and escalation procedures.Required QualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.Active membership in good standing with a state bar.5–10+ years of legal experience in-house and/or at a law firm.Significant experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.Strong knowledge of:Advertising lawFTC endorsement guidelinesConsumer protection regulationsSweepstakes and contest complianceIntellectual property lawLicensing and publicity rightsPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting marketing, advertising, media, entertainment, digital platforms, or consumer-facing businesses.Experience supporting streaming platforms or digital media organizations.Interest in emerging technologies and digital media trends.Experience developing legal processes, playbooks, and training programs.
