Korean Tutor - Freelance

ABOUT LANGUAGE ACADEMIA REQUIREMENTS Minimum of an Associate degree in linguistics, history, language, culture, performing arts, international relations, literature, or a related field Fluency in at least three languages, with the ability to teach in at least two of them Fluent, clear, and confident English (spoken) Strong familiarity with the pop culture, media, and contemporary usage of the language(s) taught (film, TV, music, internet culture, trends) 2+ years of tutoring or teaching experience, either in group settings, private sessions, or both Comfortable on camera and willing to participate in short-form and long-form educational content (social media, video lessons, promos) Must be based in Los Angeles (or driving distance) Must be comfortable with Google products - Google Calendar, Docs, Spreadsheets, Drive, Email, etc. Comfortable with computers in general. ABOUT THIS POSITION This is a fully freelance, flexible role with natural highs and lows in scheduling. Work at Language Academia spans multiple creative and educational projects, including tutoring and group classes, translations, acting and on-camera work, curriculum development, interviews, advisory roles, expert commentary, and other creative collaborations. You’ll be joining a close-knit, multidisciplinary creative family where educators, artists, and cultural experts support one another’s goals and dreams—while collectively sharing language, history, and culture with a wider audience. RESPONSIBILITIES Teach live and recorded online lessons Lead online and in-person group classes and private tutoring sessions Contribute to curriculum development, lesson planning, and creative educational formats Participate in and host interviews, public speaking engagements, panels, and workshops Provide translation and interpretation services as needed Contribute to creative projects, scripts, and educational materials Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary, Internship Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour Benefits: Employee discount Flexible schedule Professional development assistance Application Question(s): Which languages do you speak fluently?
