Below are the preferred skills, duties, and responsibilities you will have performing as our CNC Operators.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\nAvailability to work (7am-3:15pm) 1st shift and (11pm-3:15pm) 3rd shift.\nTraining occurs on 1st shift for up to 90 days.\nRequired: High School/GED diploma or vocational school equivalent.\nRequired: 5+ years of machining experience with formal training or certification from an accredited trade school.\nRequired: Computer literacy specific to operating CNC machines.\nRequired: Experience with machining techniques and methods of CNC Mill and Lathes as well as tool operating procedures and blueprint reading.\nRequired: A broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with Mazak, Mori Seiki, Brother, Okuma, Tsugami, G-codes, M-codes, lathes, and mills.\nBasic hand tool knowledge.\nMust have the ability to accurately use measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and height stands.\nMust be able to work from programming instructions and operations data and machine setup instructions defining and coding tool arrangements.\nFamiliar with machine calibrations and console settings to perform operations.\nSetups involve familiarity with and understanding of program formats involving combinations of operations such as profiling, drilling, boring, contour milling, turning, facing, threading, and recessing to the capacity of the machine and control factor.\nMust have experience with tolerances (+/-.003) and ability to make exact tolerances.\nAbility to check parts for conformance to specifications.\nMust be able to understand and properly use fixtures and tooling.\nPossess strong attention to detail and communication skills, both written and verbal.\nMust follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications set forth by LMT.\nRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:\nThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.\nOperate CNC Machine centers to produce machined parts.\nOperate more than one unit simultaneously.\nPerform all operations to set-up equipment and fixtures in the machining center for other operators working from drawings and specification sheet.\nDiagnose problems and make adjustments.\nResponsible for the proper selection of tooling, set-up and adjustment, and for manually programming short runs/special jobs.\nMaintain quality and safety standards. Perform self-inspection of parts to ensure specs.\nAdhere to quality assurance standards.\nKeep accurate records by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Document actions by completing production and quality logs.\nSustain repairs and maintenance of the machines as well as other equipment and call for repairs and supplies.\nFollow manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshoot malfunctions, and update job knowledge by voluntarily participating in educational opportunities.\nKeep workstation and equipment clean.\nInstruct operators on procedures and methods and make periodic operation checks to assure proper machining operations.\n*LMT Defense is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
