Systems Administrator with Security Clearance
SITEC Consulting is seeking motivated Junior and Mid-level Windows / Linux / VMware System Administrators to support a mission-focused government software hosting facility. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who enjoy hands-on technical work across physical servers, virtual environments, operating systems, networking, security compliance, and customer support. In this role, you will help deploy, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot critical infrastructure supporting a variety of customer missions. The ideal candidate is technically curious, comfortable working in a secure government environment, and eager to contribute to system reliability, security posture, and long-term infrastructure improvements. What You'll DoAs a System Administrator, you will support day-to-day operations, maintenance, and engineering activities across Windows, Linux, VMware, and related infrastructure. Responsibilities may include: Deploying and maintaining physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, including virtual machines and containersPerforming routine maintenance, configuration changes, and troubleshooting across servers, workstations, and IT equipmentInstalling, configuring, and supporting hardware and software in a secure enterprise environmentManaging system backups, disaster recovery planning, user accounts, and permissionsDeploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting software applicationsSupporting customers by resolving technical issues and providing guidance on best practicesMaintaining documentation, including knowledge base articles, incident response actions, system configurations, and administration proceduresSecuring information systems and applications in accordance with current DoD guidanceSupporting RMF compliance activities, including scanning, STIG execution, remediation tracking, and routine security reportingMaintaining system configuration and security posture through continuous monitoringParticipating in project planning and execution using Agile methodologiesProviding networking support for on-premises infrastructure, including virtual networking environmentsRequired QualificationsActive Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearanceAbility to start with an interim Top Secret, if applicableU.S. Citizenship required4-8 Years Of Hands-on Experience With The FollowingExperience supporting Windows and/or Linux system administrationExperience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance activitiesHands-on experience with security scanning, STIG execution, vulnerability remediation, or related security hardening activitiesCompTIA Security+ certificationWindows or Linux operating system certificationFamiliarity with Linux operating systems and virtual networking conceptsStrong troubleshooting, documentation, and customer support skillsDesired SkillsVMware / vSphere / ESXi administrationVirtual networkingSystem backups and disaster recoveryContainersActive DirectoryNetworking fundamentals and on-premises infrastructure supportExperience working in secure DoD or government environmentsWhy This RoleThis position offers the opportunity to work across a broad technical stack while supporting meaningful government missions.
