Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the laboratories perform more than 19 million tests a year. In addition to IU Health, laboratory testing services are provided to hospitals and physicians across the country./ppShift: Full Time-Evenings, 14:30-23:00 initially, scheduled hours may change slightly when Ft Wayne facility opens, Weekend and holiday rotation./ppLocation and Transition Details: This position will initially be based at the IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital Laboratory in Muncie, Indiana, and will transfer to the new IU Health Fort Wayne facility no later than September 2026./ppApplicants must be willing to work in Muncie during the initial phase to complete training and gain hands-on experience. This position will play a key role in the successful launch of the Fort Wayne facility, including training and onboarding laboratory team members. Upon the opening of the new facility, the position will be permanently based in Fort Wayne./ppPerforms laboratory tests on patient specimens and provides information for the diagnosis, treatment or prevention of diseases. Maintains records of performance and utilizes independent judgment to generate acceptable test results within quality control standards. May participate in research and development activities. May act as a key resource person for staff inside and outside of the department. Instructs students, laboratory and non-laboratory staff on laboratory procedures and techniques. Performs all tasks according to standard operating procedures.
