Position Summary: The Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program is a peer mentor model that promotes early literacy and learning for families or caregivers with young children (2,3, and 4-year-olds). The HIPPY Assistant Coordinator provides support to the HIPPY Coordinator and the HIPPY Corps members in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the HIPPY program. This HIPPY Assistant Coordinator is responsible for completing data entry and reporting for each family and child enrolled. This person also participates in community and family education and advocates for social change. This may include providing case management for families to acquire resources and support that promote resilience, protective factors, and the goals of the designated program. The HIPPY program is accredited through HIPPY US and monitored by the HIPPY State Office (Parent Possible). Duties Performed: Work collaboratively with the HIPPY Coordinator and HIPPY Corps members to recruit families and ensure maintenance of full caseloads. Work with the HIPPY coordinator to recruit, interview candidates, and conduct training and orientations with HIPPY Corps members. Support the Coordinator during the weekly staff meetings by gathering all needed materials for the week being role-played. Enter accurate and timely data for all relevant program requirements weekly. Participate in all assigned HIPPY family education and learning events/groups, including field trips and program advisory meetings. Create flyers and agendas as needed and produce correspondence for families. Review intake forms, surveys, and assessments submitted by HIPPY Corps members for completion and accuracy. Partner with local agencies to build a referral network for enrolled families and caregivers. Perform meeting moderation, note-taking functions, and other administrative functions. Participate in internal, community, and interagency meetings and trainings, as assigned. Engage in reflective supervision. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, be culturally respectful, and utilize supervision when situations are beyond the scope of the member role. Education/Credentials: High School Diploma or equivalent Experience with parent and family education in the home, community, and other settings. Must be able to obtain certification as required by evidence-based programs. Valid Colorado drivers License with a driving record that meets agency insurability requirements as set forth for positions that must transport clients. Experience with community outreach, advocacy, public speaking and/or teaching is desired. Salary placements will generally occur between the starting wage and the midpoint of the salary range.
