You will report to our Chief Technology Officer and work a hybrid schedule from an office in Oakland, CA; Santa Monica, CA; Ridgewood, NJ; or NYC.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nDesign, develop, and program PLC-based electrical control systems\n\nSpecify, purchase, and troubleshoot control system hardware and instrumentation (field-mounted and panel-mounted instruments)\n\nRead, understand, and develop control system design documents (Functional Specifications, User’s Manual, and engineering reports)\n\nTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical control systems to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency\n\nDesign and manage site-level microgrid networks and security\n\nPerform risk assessments and implement safety measures to ensure the safe operation of control systems\n\nCollaborate with internal teams, clients, and external vendors as needed to resolve system issues\n\nSupport cybersecurity efforts to ensure secure, reliable, and redundant controls\n\nLearn our microgrid controls and optimize them for each project\n\nIdeal Candidate\n\nStrong working experience with PLC programming, controls engineering, and various automation systems\n\nExperience with distributed energy resources, including batteries, solar, generators, and switchgear\n\n5+ years of control loop design and switching power supply experience is a plus\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot ladder logic of complex control systems\n\nSolid mechanical, electrical, and software interface skills\n\nGreat attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously\n\nContinuous learner, staying updated with the latest advancements in control systems technology\n\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 4+ years of experience OR an equivalent combination of skills, education, and experience\n\nAbout Scale Microgrids\nScale is redefining resilience, with advanced microgrids that go beyond traditional backup power solutions to give businesses the power to adapt and thrive amid energy challenges.
