This patient population is critical, often requiring invasive ICP monitoring and aggressive nursing interventions.\n\nA caregiver in this position works 7:00PM – 7:30AM.\n\nA caregiver who excels in this role will:\nProvide direct nursing care.\nAssessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for a given patient population.\nAssessments: complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.\nPlanning: develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, coordinating the interdisciplinary plan of care and serve as a patient advocate.\nImplementation: provide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document.\nEvaluation: participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process.\nLeadership/professional development: delegate tasks/assignments, serve as a resource person/role model/mentor, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit.\nDepartment specific duties: review and document progress and discharge goals with patients and families, participate in and document patient care, discharge planning and case management conferences, communicate information regarding patient plan of care, current outcomes and acuity at shift report, communicate changes in patient condition and patient care/unit issues, ensure JCAHO Core Measures related to nursing care are achieved, incorporate patient safety goals and complete all paper and electronic records.\n\nMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nGraduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.\nCurrent state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).\nBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).\nWilling to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and TNCC certification and complete CVVHD training within one year of employment.\n\nPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:\nBachelor of science in nursing (BSN).\n\nOur caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
