DESCRIPTION Chemist (Job #4664)\nLocation: Houston, TX area\nPosition Summary:\nOur Client in East Houston is looking for a Chemist to perform analysis on fuels, petrochemical, diesel and oil products\nEssential Functions:\nUtilize a variety of instrumentation including but not limited to GC, GC/MS, UVF, physical property analyzers, etc\nMaintain clean and safe working environment\nParticipate in all safety and quality control activities\nAccurately record all data from analysis\nAnalyze results to determine if sample was in spec\nImmediately notify management for all out of spec results\nPerform general calibration and preventative maintenance on GC system\nProvide analytical support to production and sales departments\nQualifications:\nBS Chemistry preferred for entry level candidates\n2+ years relative experience for candidates with other degrees\nPrevious experience with GC systems highly preferred\nExperience with ISO policies and procedures\nSkills and Abilities:\nMust be able to multi-task effectively\nMust have strong written and oral communication skills\nMust be able to follow written and oral instructions\nBasic Math and Computer (Word/Excel)\nStrong attention to details\nMust be able to occasionally lift and/or move 100 lbs\nType of Assignment:\nTemp-hire\nShift Schedule:\nMon- Fri with some rotating on call
