Senior Solar & BESS Engineer (Saratoga Springs, NY / Seattle, WA / Golden, CO)

OverviewThe Senior Solar & BESS Engineer serves as a key resource within the construction team, will assist in providing renewable energy project reviews and technical due diligence to support the advisory team. The role will contribute to the technical review of renewable energy projects and portfolios for investors, financing parties, developers, and project owners. Role may be hired as Project Engineer level or Senior Project Engineer level commensurate with candidate’s experience and qualifications.Roles and ResponsibilitiesLead and contribute to the technical review of renewable energy projects for potential investors, developers, and project owners.Lead and contribute to writing and reviewing due diligence and independent engineering reports.Review project designs and generation technologies and studies for code compliance, industry standards, and project requirements.Develop skills in a core area of expertise as well as cross-train in different technical fields such as technology reviews (wind/solar/storage), construction and equipment supply contracts, operating contracts, electrical engineering, civil engineering, permitting, and financial model reviews.Conduct site visits for wind, solar, and energy storage projects across development, construction, and operational phases.Responsible for the on-time, on-quality and on-budget delivery of tasks assigned to you.When supporting projects not specifically assigned to you ensure appropriate feedback is provided to the project manager on project budgets upon completion of tasks.Provide clear technical advice and communicate complex issues to clients.Demonstrate good communication skills, both oral and written, vertically and across the organization.Maintain and improve internal project databases and information.This position may require up to 20% travel.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college in Engineering or related technical discipline,3+ years of experience and/or experience in a technical aspect of renewable energy project design or development with focus on solar and/or energy storage.Desirable Qualifications and Experience:Advanced degree and EIT certification preferred.Experience in more than one renewable energy source.Experience in consulting, due diligence, and independent engineering.Experience with travel and project site visits.Job Profile:General Responsibilities:Health & Safety: All employees are required to adhere to Health & Safety Regulations and ensure best practice is met by both them and by their colleagues.Environmental: All employees are required to adhere to the Environmental Regulations and ensure best practice is met to protect the environment and to actively support the business to always protect the environment when working with clients, colleagues and contractors.Quality: All employees are expected to work within the systems, processes and procedures outlined within the department and / or company handbooks or software platforms or training manuals.Flexibility: A reasonable degree of flexibility is required from all employees to meet the needs of the role, the department and the wider company.Benefits:Natural Power is committed to providing an engaging and collaborative environment, supported by excellent and comprehensive benefits.
