In this role, you will implement the Physicians order by adhering to the six rights of medication administration for all residential prescription or nonprescription treatments and medications. This role may also be responsible for basic wound care and 1st aid treatments. The Medication Technician shall monitor for medication effectiveness, adverse reactions to medications, medication regimen compliance and refusal of medication. As the Medication Technician you will adhere to the residential standards and rights as outlined in DHS chapter 83 for CBRF compliance.\nEssential Functions and Responsibilities:\nKnowledge of medication actions, medication effects on body systems, and side effects.\nAbility to understand and effectively carry out verbal and/or written instructions. *Communication is essential. *\nAbility to administer medications to elderly, confused, and emotionally upset residents in a safe, mature, and respectable manner.\nAbility to accurately document the administration of medications.\nMaintains state regulatory requirements for annual training and/or continuing education.\nAlways ensure compliance with resident rights and HIPAA policies.\nDemonstrates teamwork by communicating with other staff, actively working to resolve problems and helping other facility staff.\nProvides patience, compassion, and empathy in all interactions with residents.
