This role ensures that products meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and company quality standards while supporting production, mentoring inspectors, and driving continuous improvement. The Quality Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for quality issues during the shift and assists the Quality Manager with implementing quality systems and process improvements.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nSupervise and coordinate the daily activities of Quality Inspectors and Lead Inspectors.\nAssign inspection priorities based on production schedules and customer requirements.\nVerify first article inspections (FAIs), in-process inspections, and final inspections are completed accurately and on time.\nReview inspection documentation for completeness and accuracy.\nEnsure compliance with customer drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards.\nInvestigate quality issues and coordinate corrective actions with Production, Engineering, and Management.\nAssist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).\nTrain, coach, and mentor inspectors on inspection techniques, blueprint reading, GD&T, and company procedures.\nEnsure calibrated inspection equipment is properly maintained and used correctly.\nMonitor non-conforming material and oversee segregation, documentation, and disposition.\nParticipate in customer audits, supplier quality issues, and internal quality audits.\nTrack departmental performance metrics including scrap, rework, customer returns, and on-time inspections.\nSupport ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality system requirements (if applicable).\nAssist the Quality Manager with developing inspection procedures and work instructions.\nPromote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.\nMaintain a safe and organized work environment.\nQualifications\nMinimum 5 years of quality inspection experience in a sheet metal fabrication and precision machining environment.\nMinimum 2 years in a Lead Inspector or supervisory role preferred.\nStrong working knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and machine shop processes including:\nMachining\nLaser cutting\nTurret punching\nForming/Bending\nWelding\nHardware installation\nAssembly\nFinishing processes\nProficient in blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).\nExperience performing First Article Inspections (AS9102 experience preferred).\nWorking knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems.\nStrong understanding of quality tools including:\nRoot Cause Analysis\n5 Why\nFishbone Diagram\nCorrective Action Reports (CARs)\nComputer proficiency including Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.\nExcellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.\nAbility to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nRequired Skills\nStrong leadership and decision-making abilities.\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.\nAbility to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, engineering, and production personnel.\nDetail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.\nAbility to coach employees while maintaining accountability.\nStrong time management and multitasking abilities.\nEquipment & Inspection Tools\nMust be proficient using:\nCalipers\nMicrometers\nHeight Gages\nPin Gages\nThread Gages\nOptical Comparator\nSurface Plate\nBore Gages\nIndicators\nCMM experience preferred\nVision Measurement Systems preferred\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.\nLift up to 40 pounds occasionally.\nFrequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand motions.\nAbility to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and moderate noise.\nPreferred Qualifications\nASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) preferred.\nLean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is a plus.\nPrevious supervisory or team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.\nExperience with aerospace, medical, defense, or other high-tolerance manufacturing industries is highly desirable.\nPay: $27.00 -
