You will be responsible for defining our tax service offerings, building the team, establishing client relationships, and delivering measurable outcomes for our clients.What Success Looks LikeWithin the first year, the Tax Services practice is operational with a defined service model, a growing client roster, and a team in place delivering consistent, high-quality compliance and advisory workClients are actively reducing tax liability and making more informed financial decisions because of the strategic guidance coming out of this practice, resulting in strong retention and referral growthThe team operates with a culture of accountability and excellence, tax professionals are growing in their careers, and the practice is positioned for continued expansion into new service lines and client segmentsObjectivesPractice Leadership & StrategyDesign, launch, and scale Cardone Ventures' Tax Services practice, establishing our service model, pricing, delivery processes, and quality standardsDevelop a multi-year roadmap for the practice, including revenue targets, staffing plans, and service line expansionServe as the internal subject matter expert and thought leader on all matters related to business and individual taxationCollaborate with Cardone Ventures leadership to align tax services with the company's broader offerings and client success missionClient Services & AdvisoryLead tax strategy and planning engagements for small business and mid-market clients, identifying opportunities to reduce tax liability and optimize entity structureOversee delivery of tax compliance services including business and individual returns, quarterly estimates, and all required filingsProvide transactional tax consulting and advisory support for clients navigating M&A, business acquisitions, partnership structures, and growth eventsBuild trusted, long-term relationships with clients, serving as a key advisor in their financial decision-makingTeam Building & ManagementRecruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of tax professionals, including CPAs, tax managers, and client service staffEstablish training programs, technical standards, and career development pathways for the teamFoster a culture of excellence, accountability, and client-first service deliveryOperations & ComplianceImplement systems, workflows, and technology to deliver tax services efficiently and at scaleEnsure the practice maintains full regulatory compliance and meets all professional and ethical standardsMonitor industry developments, tax law changes, and IRS guidance to keep clients and the team ahead of the curveCompetenciesAbility to set vision, build from scratch, and drive a practice toward measurable outcomes without needing a roadmap handed to youDeep, current knowledge of business and individual tax law, entity structuring, pass-through taxation, and transactional advisorySkilled at building trusted, long-term advisory relationships with business owners and translating complex tax concepts into clear, actionable guidanceAbility to build and scale systems, workflows, and technology infrastructure that support efficient, compliant service deliveryAbility to leverage an existing client base and network to grow the practice, identify upsell opportunities, and position tax services as a strategic differentiatorComfortable working alongside leadership, legal, finance, and client success teams to deliver integrated, cohesive client outcomesTakes full ownership of results, sets clear expectations for the team, and operates with a high degree of integrity and professional standardsLeverages or is willing to develop proficiency in AI tools to enhance tax research, streamline compliance workflows, and drive operational efficiency across the teamAbility to engage confidently at the executive level, present complex tax strategy clearly, and represent the practice internally and externallyEducation and ExperienceRequiredCPA license, required;
