Full Stack Software Engineer

About HextronicsHex is building the infrastructure for on-demand aerial data. We design and manufacture drone-in-a-box systems that automate repetitive drone operations, taking humans out of the loop so the people who depend on aerial data can move faster. We're a small, agile team, we move fast, take on extreme ownership, and build products in months, not years. The RoleWe’re looking for a junior or mid-level full stack engineer to help build and maintain the software powering our drone operations platform. You’ll work across the stack — from database design to React interfaces — contributing to systems that control real hardware in the real world.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain full stack features across our web applications using Python and ReactDesign and manage relational database schemas, queries, and migrationsCollaborate with hardware and robotics teams to surface drone control to real-time web interfacesWrite clean, tested, and well-documented codeParticipate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practicesDebug issues across the full stack in a fast-moving environmentWork well with Artificial Intelligence to maximize functional outputRequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience1–5 years of professional software development experienceProficiency in Python for backend developmentExperience building UIs with ReactWorking knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar)Strong fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, REST APIsNice to HaveExposure to drone systems, UAV platforms, robotics, or aerospace softwareFamiliarity with MAVLink or other drone communication protocolsExperience with real-time data systems or WebSocketsBackground in embedded systems or hardware-adjacent softwareWhat We OfferCompetitive salary and equityHealth, dental, and vision coverageThe chance to work on software that controls physical systems in the fieldA small, technical team where your work ships and mattersHex is an equal opportunity employer.
