Job Description The CNC Lathe & Gear Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. This role requires an organized approach to daily projects and an accelerated level of attention to precision manufacturing.Key Responsibilities● A primary focus on setup and operation of the following equipment: ○ Okuma lathes.○ Gleason AM250 Gear Shaper○ Affolter AF160 Gear hobbing / skiving○ Gleason 100PS gear hobbing / skiving○ Universal Robotics UR15 & UR20 Robot loaders ● Secondary focus on gear deburring operations.● Read and interpret blueprints, install, and adjust appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials.● Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations and make necessary adjustments to ensure the highest quality output.● Perform in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure parts meet tolerance requirements.● Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine operations, tooling, and materials.● Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.● Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.● Maintain accurate production records and logs.
