Policy Associate

ResponsibilitiesThis position will support clients focused on a range of policy issues on behalf of clients in the private sector, with an emphasis on technology and telecommunications. The Associate will work in a team environment to craft and implement creative strategies to support our clients' priorities.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Manage projects that involve significant planning, material development, and coordination on execution with internal clients and external contactsServe as point of contact for client requestsCreate policy-focused content such as letters, blogs, one-pagers, statements, and social media postsStrong interest in growing or developing a deep understanding on a range of technology and telecommunications policy, corporate responsibility, and related issuesAssist cross-functional policy and research teams with other tasks and special projects as neededQualificationsEducation: An undergraduate degree is requiredWork Experience: 1 – 3 years of experience (can include internships) working in government affairs, management consulting, public policy, public relations, political campaigns, or a related role.Strong organization and time management skills, acute attention to detail, and knowledge of MS Office are essentialDemonstrated ability to communicate concisely, research complex policy issues, and connect current events and policy issues to clients' prioritiesSkilled in writing clearly on complex topics for a variety of audiences; experience managing and editing writing projects, including digital communications, is a plusAbility to operate independently on-sight with clients, with minimal oversightEager to anticipate client needs while exercising discretion and excellent judgementResourceful, results oriented, team-player with a positive "can do" attitudeOverviewThe Dewey Square Group (DSG) is one of the country's leading public affairs firms.
