We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Database Engineer to join our UniQue team.\r\nWhat will you be doing in this role?\r\nManage installation, configuration, upgrades, and backups of database systems and related products both on-premises and in the cloud\r\nDesign, develop, and maintain data collection, transformation, and integration processes across multiple on-premises and cloud RDBMS platforms\r\nMonitor database performance, availability, and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal service delivery.\r\nDevelop and manage automation tools, scripts, and workflows for database administration, monitoring, maintenance, and operational reporting.\r\nProduce dynamic reports and standardized templates to support database configuration management, performance monitoring, and lifecycle tracking;\r\nSupport database migrations and modernization initiatives involving Azure and other cloud database services.\r\nCollaborate with application, infrastructure, and cloud engineering teams to ensure optimal database performance, reliability, and scalability.\r\nEstablish and maintain data governance and quality standards within reporting and integration processes;\r\nStay current with database technology roadmaps, contributing to continuous improvement of lifecycle management, security, and data reliability.\r\nProduce and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, architectural designs, and support runbooks.\r\nWhat do you need to succeed in this position?\r\nMinimum of a bachelor's degree, combined with expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration, development, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.\r\nStrong experience designing, implementing, and supporting High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions, including:\r\nAlways On Availability Groups\r\nFailover Clustering\r\nReplication\r\nBackup and recovery strategies\r\nExperience managing databases across cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, including Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Virtual Machines.\r\nExperience administering and supporting open-source database technologies, including PostgreSQL and MySQL/MariaDB.\r\nExperience with NoSQL database technologies, preferably MongoDB.\r\nProficiency in database automation and scripting using PowerShell, T-SQL, and/or Python.\r\nStrong understanding of relational database design, normalization, indexing strategies, query optimization, and capacity planning.\r\nExperience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and database deployment automation practices.\r\nExperience working with containerized and virtualized environments.\r\nStrong understanding of database monitoring, observability, and performance management tools.\r\nExperience ensuring data quality, consistency, and governance across integrated systems while adhering to organizational data standards and compliance requirements.\r\nExperience implementing secure database management practices, including access control, encryption, auditing, and vulnerability management.\r\nProven ability to lead technical investigations, perform root cause analysis, and resolve complex database incidents and problems.\r\nAn active NATO Secret-level security clearance at the time of application is required.\r\nFluency in English.\r\nAt Uni Systems, we are providing equal employment opportunities and banning any form of discrimination on grounds of gender, religion, race, color, nationality, disability, social class, political beliefs, age, marital status, sexual orientation or any other characteristics.
