This role will focus on guiding the adoption of Rust across embedded systems, modernizing legacy software, and ensuring memory-safe, high-performance solutions. The selected candidate will play a key role in shaping technical strategy, working closely with stakeholders, and contributing across all phases of the software development lifecycle within C5 and Cyber Solution Centers.\n\nThis job will have the following responsibilities:\nLead adoption and implementation of Rust across embedded software development initiatives\nGuide integration and conversion of legacy C/C++ systems into Rust\nProvide architectural guidance and best practices for memory-safe Rust development\nSupport embedded software application development and engineering teams\nTranslate requirements into scalable, maintainable software solutions\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams on hardware/software integration and system design\nParticipate in all phases of the SDLC including requirements, design, implementation, integration, and testing\nInvestigate and resolve complex technical issues independently or with multi-disciplinary teams\nDevelop test plans, procedures, and technical documentation\nUtilize modeling tools, prototyping, and testing to validate system performance\nConduct peer reviews, track defects, and ensure high-quality deliverables\nWork within Agile/Scrum teams to prioritize tasks and drive product and infrastructure direction\n\nQualifications & Requirements:\nEducation and/or Certification Requirement\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 6+ years of experience\nOR Graduate degree with 4+ years of experience\nOR 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree\nExperience Requirement\n3+ years of hands-on experience developing production-grade software in Rust\nStrong experience with C/C++ development\nExperience developing software for embedded or real-time systems\nManagement Requirement\nExperience leading technical direction, mentoring developers, or guiding engineering best practices\nProcess Oversight Requirement\nExperience working across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)\nFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies\nAbility to establish development standards, testing practices, and documentation\nSpecific Skills Requirement\nStrong proficiency in Rust with deep understanding of memory safety and performance optimization\nExperience converting legacy C/C++ codebases into Rust\nKnowledge of embedded systems development and hardware/software integration\nExperience with device drivers, Board Support Packages (BSPs), or real-time systems\nFamiliarity with modeling tools (e.g., IBM Rhapsody, MagicDraw, Cameo)\nExperience with Python or additional programming languages preferred\nAdditional Requirements\nU.S. Citizenship required\nActive DoD Secret Clearance required\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nExperience with Information Assurance, cryptography, or secure systems is a plus\nExposure to certifications such as NSA Type 1 or DO-178 is preferred\n#ITEngineering\nBy providing your phone number, you consent to: (1) receive automated text messages and calls from the Judge Group, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively \"Judge\") to such phone number regarding job opportunities, your job application, and for other related purposes.
