Quantity Surveyor III

Quantity Surveyor III (Utilities / Construction) Location: Remote (MA, NH, VT) with occasional in-person meetings Duration: 6+ Month Contract; with possibility of extension. Overview This role supports large-scale infrastructure and capital projects by ensuring cost accuracy, contract integrity, and effective vendor engagement. The position is well-suited for someone with a blend of estimating, procurement, and contract negotiation experience within utilities, construction, or a comparable technical environment. Candidates with either electrical or civil construction backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Partner with project and program teams to manage project costs, validate budgets, and ensure alignment with contractual agreements Evaluate and process change orders, ensuring compliance, accurate pricing, and proper documentation Contribute to contract lifecycle activities including drafting, review, negotiation, and risk identification prior to project award Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders (engineering, procurement, project management, safety) and external contractors Support dispute resolution efforts and ensure adherence to contract terms and conditions Assist with procurement activities and vendor negotiations to drive cost efficiency and project success Provide support during high-demand or emergency response situations impacting infrastructure delivery Qualifications Bachelor's degree required (engineering, construction management, business, or related field preferred) 3-5 years of experience in contract administration, cost management, estimating, or project delivery within utilities, construction, or similar industries Proven experience negotiating contracts and managing change orders Exposure to estimating practices (2-3 years preferred) Experience working with EPC projects or large-scale infrastructure initiatives is a plus Strong understanding of procurement processes and contract documentation Proficiency with Microsoft tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Power BI J-18808-Ljbffr
