This role analyzes project requirements, interprets drawings and specifications, performs detailed takeoffs, and collaborates with project managers, vendors, and field teams to develop complete bid packages. Success requires strong technical understanding, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nReview project plans, specifications, and addenda to understand scope and requirements.\nPerform detailed quantity takeoffs for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems.\nDevelop labor and material pricing using historical data, vendor quotes, and production rates.\nBuild and maintain accurate estimates using Accubid; support digital takeoff and markup using Bluebeam.\nSolicit, evaluate, and compare vendor and subcontractor pricing; maintain strong vendor relationships.\nPrepare complete bid packages including cost breakdowns, clarifications, and scope narratives.\nCoordinate with project managers, engineering teams, and field personnel to ensure alignment between estimate and project execution.\nParticipate in internal bid reviews and project hand off meetings.\nTrack cost history and maintain organized documentation to support future bids and process improvements.\nStay current on industry trends, market conditions, and code changes that may impact cost assumptions.\n\nRequired Skills and Abilities\nAbility to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.\nFamiliarity with national electrical codes and standard installation practices.\nStrong analytical and problem solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration across teams and with external partners.\nProficient in Microsoft Excel and PDF editing tools; experience with Bluebeam and Accubid preferred.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.\nProfessional, responsive, and proactive in communication and follow through.\nSelf driven with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.\n\nEducation and Experience\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\nAssociate degree or technical training in construction, electrical technology, or related field preferred.\n2+ years of estimating experience in the electrical or construction industry preferred.\nExperience with estimating software such as Accubid strongly preferred.\nFamiliarity with construction management tools such as Procore, PlanGrid, Revit, or CAD is a plus.\nBenefits\nOUR TRAINING PROGRAMS\nCost estimating utilizing the latest software from Accubid\nLighting design, photometry, and Title 24 compliance\nPower distribution and system architecture\nBasic procurement\nField installation techniques\nPre-fabrication design and implementation\nOur benefits\nMedical, dental, and vision care\nProfit sharing/Company matching 401k Program\nPaid vacation/sick leave\nFully paid life insurance policy\nFor this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
