Estimator I

Job Description Salary: $65,000- $80,000POSITION OVERVIEW:The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing plans, specifications, and other documentation. This role works closely with project managers, vendors, and clients to develop competitive bids and support successful project execution.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Review project plans, specifications and other documentation to determine scope of workPerform quantity takeoffs for HVAC and Plumbing systems and materialsEvaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractorsPrepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractorsDraft RFIs for any required clarifications.Review project Addendums for changesReview project schedule and identify risks due to equipment lead timesProvide client with requested Alternate and VE pricing breakoutsEnsure estimates comply with local codes and regulationsQUALIFICATIONS: 3 years minimum experience in construction estimatingProficient knowledge construction methods, materials, and building codesAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsProficiency in administrative software (Building Connected, Procore and MS Office)Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Trimble, Procore, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar)Understanding of construction schedules and lead timesExperience interacting with suppliers, Project Mangers and design teamsAbility to manage multiple bids simultaneouslyAssociates Degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experienceSKILLS & COMPETENCIES:Proficient mathematical and analytical skillsExcellent attention to detailExcellent communication and organizational abilitiesProficient management and ability to meet deadlinesExhibits strong problem-solving and critical thinking skillsExtensive team collaborationProvides prompt, professional correspondence to suppliersPerforms all duties with the goal of building and maintaining long-term relationshipsImmediately addresses any project concerns and requests the involvement of other Company personnel as requiredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This Position does not have any supervisory responsibilitiesPHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE:The physical demands and environmental exposure described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
