Our goal is to meet the highest employer standards by ensuring the health and safety of our employees, protecting the environment and positively impacting our communities where we do business.\nThe GOM - Ballast Control Operator will be part of the GOM Ops Marlin Ops 4 Team and will support the Gulf of Mexico Business Unit in managing both short and long term planning as well as in controlling program execution while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This will be done by working closely with the Assets, Plants and Operational Support groups to gather, analyze and reconcile all necessary data to allow execution of these plans.\nEnsure the stability of the production platform is maintained at all times. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following major jobs / duties:\ncontinually monitoring the deck loads and the loading and unloading of the appropriate ballast tanks to maintain the desired list / trim of the platform\nmonitoring ballast, list & trim alarms and responding in a trained manner according to SOP including notifying Barge Supervisor and OIM\nensure all ballast control pumps, tanks and valves are properly maintained and fully functional at all times\nmonitor / log weather and plan for future weather events so as to ensure stability of the platform\nmaintain radar and general navigational watch\nEnsure that all fire fighting equipment, life boats, fast rescue boats, rafts and associated equipment are regularly inspected and fully operational and available for immediate use at all times.\nMonitor the emergency fire safety systems and alarms throughout the production platform and notifying the appropriate parties of potential problems.\nInspect the eye wash and shower emergency stations and emergency lighting and notify maintenance by writing up a work order on issues that need repairs\nContact the USCG and area platforms in instances of fire / explosion / spill emergency situations,\nConduct weekly fire drills, replace used / expired fire extinguishers as appropriate often serve as the coxswain on the fast rescue boat and life boats\nInspect the life boats including quarterly launching and recovering the life boats\nIssue, monitor, maintain ongoing log and store work permits related to the Marine aspect of the platform\nCoordinate logistics manifests for equipment / storage containers, etc leaving the platform\nLiaison between the Company and outside vendors in regards to fire and life saving equipment\n\nRequired:\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED\nTHUET, T-2 Certificate\nAdvanced Fire Fighting, Lifeboatman, Fast Rescue Craft, First Aid / CPR, Helicopter Landing Officer\nAt least one year experience on GOM Oxy Platform\nFamiliar with the needs and requirements of Permit To Work (PTW) systems\nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, creed, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, disability status, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, marital status, citizenship status or any other basis as protected by federal, state, or local law.\nRecruitment Fraud\nIt has come to our attention various individuals and/or organizations are contacting people falsely pretending to recruit on behalf of Oxy.
