We are rebuilding urban, community-based food systems through cooperative social enterprise: increasing access to healthy food, improving community health, supporting entrepreneurs and cooperatives from low-income communities, and creating opportunities for at-risk residents to earn sustainable, family-supporting wages and build wealth. We believe that all communities deserve equal access to fresh, healthy food choices, but that achieving this requires moving beyond the "access" paradigm to a focus on community self-determination and food sovereignty. Utilizing the food system as a catalyst, we are working to create an integrated pipeline to jobs, economic opportunity, and community wealth-building for our most marginalized communities.Position SummaryThe Development Manager will work at generating revenue for the implementation of core programs by expanding DOL's current portfolio of funders and donors. The Development Manager collaborates closely with leadership, program staff, and volunteers to ensure development activities are strategically aligned with organizational goals.Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to the development and execution of fundraising strategies to support organizational revenue goalsPartner with program staff and leadership to align funding opportunities with program priorities and impactIdentify and pursue new funding opportunities across foundations, corporations, and individual givingConduct prospect research to build and maintain a pipeline of mission-aligned fundersWrite letters of intent and grant proposals in collaboration with staff, including compiling supporting data and tracking feedback on submissionsIdentify and cultivate prospective donors through personalized outreachManage a portfolio of donors through ongoing communication, relationship management, and stewardshipMaintain accurate donor records in DOL's donor management system (Grantseeker)Update the organization's grants and reporting calendarsParticipate in donor appreciation events and donor recognition programsSupport the planning and execution of fundraising and donor engagement events, including seasonal festivals and donor cultivation opportunitiesGenerate and prepare reports on fundraising performance, donor trends, and projectionsAssist with securing and fulfilling sponsorships The duties and responsibilities contained herein are representative of the essential functions of this position.
