We give our users a single place to publish their projects, to manage any changes, and to track their performance across multiple vendors at draft2digital.com.\n\nThis includes physical print books and this position will be involved with continuing our development of our D2D Print service with newer formats such as large print and hardcover.\n\nPosition Overview\nPython Full Stack Developer\n\nWe are looking for someone who can fill a key role in our development process, providing development of our server-side and client-side features at Draft2Digital specifically with our D2D Print service. This will include document conversion, eBook and print book generation, metadata distribution to third parties, and developing new features for our website and services.\n\nThe position will call for development using the Django framework and will require excellent Python development skills. Excellent candidates will also possess and be able to perform client-side development using JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and React/Redux.\n\nQualified applicants will have advanced DB knowledge, specifically PostgreSQL as well as experience with Celery or another task manager. Past experience developing RESTful APIs (including Django Rest Framework) is also a plus.\n\nYou will be working on a small team and will be expected to manage your time effectively without strong oversight but with regular contact from the CTO and Project Manager as needed.\n\nResponsibilities\nImplement new features as we continue to grow and change as a company\nSupport the generation of xml feeds of our book catalog to enable distribution to third parties\nWriting performant code\nWriting migrations to keep systems up to date to ensure continuity\nManagement of small dev team for company project initiatives\nWork with Product Owners to turn ideas into actionable items\nEstablish clarity on design and implementation needs\nAdvocate for development best practices and understanding broader code base ramifications\nResponsible for some reviewing of code and implementation strategies\nWork with System Administrators on deployments as needed\nRequired Experience and Qualifications\nComputer Science Degree or equivalent\nExcellent understanding and skill with the Python programming language\nDjango (or Flask/Rails)\nPostgres SQL/Relational DBs\nREST APIs\nJavaScript, CSS, and HTML\nFront end framework experience with React/Angular or equivalent\nUnit testing\nAdditional Desired Skills\n3 to 5+ years professional development experience with at least 1 of those as a full stack developer\nExperience in publishing or print publishing development\nComfortable working in a mixed operating system environment\nExcellent communication and time management skills\nAbout Draft2Digital LLC\nWe are Self-Publishing with Support.
