We consult and support our customers in the ever-changing world of building automation and controls. This position will report to the Construction Team Leader & the EVP of Operations. Under limited supervision, plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters, and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives involving complex contracting applications. Strives for excellence in customer satisfaction through on-site customer interface and communications. Completes required project documentation.\nThis position will report to the VP of Operations. Under limited supervision, conducts application design, design repair, installation, and commissioning of systems. Strives for excellence in customer satisfaction through on-site customer interface and communications. With complete technical competence, mentors fellow technicians on building automation and service activities. Completes required project documentation.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities Design control systems based upon project requirements or industry standards requiring knowledge of electronic or digital controls systems. Document these designs using AutoCAD or Visio into control drawings. Write and test the programs using the languages of control systems software.\nField manages installation projects, consults with the customer, provides proposals for retrofits, upgrades, and design enhancements to systems, provides technical recommendations for sales leads, and manages assigned work to meet or exceed customer expectations.\nProvides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings. May assist with job layouts and bid proposals.\nReports problems to management problems and interfaces with company employees and subcontractors on projects to coordinate activities as required professionally.\nCommunicates with customers upon arrival and informs them of the nature of the service provided before leaving the site.\nMeets regularly with customers to become familiar with operating problems. Documents any outstanding issues with the customer and recommends system upgrades or replacements. Promotes the sale of additional technical support and work.\nPractices all company and customer safety processes. Follows safety procedures while working on-site with other contractors and subcontractors.\nTrains and teaches the customer in control systems operations and provides manuals and documentation as required, complete job documentation, completion certificate, customer training, certificates, and punch lists.\nConducts extensive self-study to enhance and improve proficiency in various product lines.\nJob Requirements Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Preferred, 2 years technical education in a field acceptable. Knowledge of Computers and computer software packages including but not limited to (AutoCAD, VISIO, MS Office, Explorer, and HTML)\nKnowledge of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment and related DDC and building management systems\nWorking knowledge of Internet-related technologies and programming along with web-based graphics. Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.\n3+ years of field or applications engineering experience in BAS and HVAC principles.\nExperience with Niagara Framework, BACnet, and graphical programming languages a plus; Distech and Tridium experience highly desirable with the ability to manage own backlog to ensure timely and accurate job completion.\nPerformance will be measured against the estimated budget and ability to meet project revenue targets.\nWhat we offer Our benefits package includes Health, Dental, Life, Long-term disability, and 401k.
