These projects will involve regulatory compliance related efforts such as permit filings, compliance task management, data collection and management, and client interface on permits and compliance. This position will lead a technical team and manage projects from concept through alternative development, costing, and detailed design.\n\nThe position entails engineering design, team support and project management on a variety of environmental and engineering projects. Projects include, but not limited to, the design and siting of waste resource facilities, such as landfills, transfer stations, convenience centers, recycling facilities, and composting operations.\nResponsibilities:\nDevelop the initial waste management design approach and maintain overall responsibility for the engineering work\nPlan, schedule, conduct or coordinate engineering work involving conventional engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features\nEvaluate respective data, prepare proposals and reports, and take part in other environmental consulting projects\nProvide engineering analyses and calculations\nOrganize designs and details to produce a completed set of drawings\nInvestigate and procure data required to develop a design\nResearch and write various reports/opinions\nUtilize various engineering related computer software\nCompile project specifications\nComplete construction cost estimates\nGain project approvals through local and state agencies, including meetings with agencies and responding to comments\nProvide engineering support activities required during construction\nCoordinate with client and project team as needed\nEducation & Experience Qualifications:\nB.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field, Master's Degree preferred\n10 years plus experience with five or more years specific to landfill and remedial designs\nPE required\nPMP preferred\nProficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D\nKnowledge and experience in Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama or Texas Solid Waste Regulations\nExcellent written, oral and interpersonal communication and technical/computer skills\nAbility to work in a team environment across multiple locations within the organization\nWhy join us?\n\nBarge Design Solutions, Inc., is an engineering and architecture firm with diverse in-house multidisciplinary practice areas.
