Georgia Blue servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in an efficient manner. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our guests' needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important, and relaxed. You must be able to relate to guests' and establish relationships while maintaining an outgoing and friendly personality.\r\nGeneral Responsibilities\r\nPrepare tables; lay out silverware, make sure the condiments are refilled, perform all other preparation tasks.\r\nStay updated on current menu choices, specialties, and menu deviations. Know if the kitchen staff is running out of any items...etc.\r\nPresent menus; suggest dishes, assist in drink selection, inform guests' about food preparation details, communicate specific customer needs to the cooks.\r\nMust have basic knowledge of common food allergies; know how and what to recommend to these guests.\r\nMaintain proper dining experience by displaying teamwork, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses and always assisting with side work.\r\nLearn your guests' names, occupations, and favorite drinks. This will make Georgia Blue a special place for them and they will continue to return.\r\nProperly open and pour wine at the tableside.\r\nObtain revenues, issue receipts, accept payments and return change.\r\nPerform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.\r\nFill in for absent staff as needed.\r\nAssist with special events as needed.\r\nGreet all guests and owners warmly with an appropriate greeting.\r\nAdhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.\r\nUnderstand and communicate products available at the restaurant.\r\nMust have some familiarity with basic cooking skills.\r\nMust take and pass the menu test by the end of training. Employees have two opportunities to take and pass the menu tests. Failure to do so may result in termination.\r\nJob Qualifications\r\nEducation\r\nHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.\r\nMust be at least 18 years of age.\r\nExperience\r\nPrevious serving experience strongly preferred.\r\nOutgoing personality, positive attitude, and strong oral communication skills.\r\nPositive interpersonal skills required.\r\nStrong knowledge of restaurant operations, service procedures, and function.\r\nMust speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.\r\nFLSA Information\r\nManagement Activities\r\nnone\r\nDiscretion / Independent Judgment\r\nThis position does represent the company in handling complaints, arbitrating disputes or resolving grievances. As a Georgia Blue server you will be expected to work with guests and visitors to ensure satisfaction.
