We are looking for two dependable, safety-focused Van Drivers to join our Transportation team serving southeastern Minnesota.\nPosition Summary\nThe Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers of all ages using agency-assigned vehicles while maintaining the highest standards of safety, customer service, and professionalism. This position requires adherence to all federal, state, local, and Semcac transportation policies and procedures.\nKey Responsibilities\nSafely transport passengers in accordance with all traffic laws and transportation policies.\nProvide excellent customer service and maintain positive public relations with passengers and community members.\nCommunicate respectfully and effectively with passengers of all ages and abilities.\nEnsure proper use of seat belts, wheelchair tie-downs, and other safety equipment.\nAssist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including individuals with disabilities or special needs.\nOperate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices safely.\nConduct daily pre-trip inspections and weekly vehicle inspections.\nKeep vehicles clean, safe, and in good working condition.\nComplete trip records and required transportation documentation accurately.\nReport maintenance concerns, incidents, and moving violations promptly.\nMaintain confidentiality regarding passengers, staff, and agency information.\nParticipate in required training, including CPR and First Aid certification.\nRespond appropriately during emergencies and follow established safety procedures.\nQualifications Required\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nValid Minnesota Driver's License.\nAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening.\nAbility to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification within the first year of employment.\nStrong communication and customer service skills.\nAbility to work independently and exercise good judgment.\nAbility to maintain accurate records and complete required reports.\nPreferred\nThree to six months of related driving, transportation, customer service, or caregiving experience.\nExperience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or diverse populations.\nBasic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and inspections.\nWhat We're Looking For\nThe ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, safety-minded, and committed to serving the communities. Successful drivers are patient, professional, and dedicated to providing a positive transportation experience for every passenger.\nSemcac does require a company application to be completed during the hiring process.
