We sincerely hope you will take pride in being an important part of IDD Aerospace 's success.Position Summary:The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for leading the procurement function for IDD Aerospace, located in Redmond, WA. This role owns key purchasing metrics, driving continuous improvement, and partners closely with all internal stakeholders, including sourcing, production planning, operations, finance, quality, customer service, engineering, and program management teams. The successful candidate will build and develop a world-class Procurement team through effective staffing, training, and talent management, and will model for integrity, inclusion, and diversity. The Purchasing Manager must bring problem-solving skills, critical-thinking skills, and a “can-do” approach for driving process improvement and business execution. This position requires the candidate to be onsite Mondays thru Fridays.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Lead the Procurement team to support customer requirements with a strong focus on material availability and operational needsMentor and coach team members to support career growth and ensure alignment with business objectivesExecute procurement strategy & vision to enable business value and productivityDevelop and maintain KPI’s, including SOTD, inventory levels, cost of purchased goods, on-time release of PO’s, past due purchase orders, etcReview, refine, and continuously improve procurement processes to enhance business performanceOversee all phases of Procurement while meeting financial targetsOptimize inventory through implementation of advanced supply processes such as VMI, blanket POs, and consigned inventory while balancing negotiated volumes with suppliersLead continuous improvement initiatives in Procurement for cost reductions, improved quality, on-time delivery, and lead-time reductionsEstablish standard work and ensure discipline on tactical procurement executionPartner with strategic sourcing to build and maintain a competent network of capable suppliersWork directly with suppliers to resolve issues impacting, but no limited to, performance, quality, invoice discrepancies, and corrective actionsEscalate supply related issues to leadership in timely mannerDrive quick turn around on RTV’s with vendorsEnsue customer requirements are flowed down to suppliersResponsible for satisfying the needs of internal and external customers by responding to requests and understanding requirements while building successful & productive customer relationshipsSupport internal and external audits, compliance initiatives, and customer production readiness assessmentsEducation / Experience:Bachelor's Degree preferred Minimum of 3 years' experience leading and developing a Purchasing team.Aerospace experience preferredAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize duties to meet deadlinesAbility to interact with C-level executives and make presentations to that levelHands-on experience managing work transfersProven negotiation skillsProven track record of driving results within Supply ChainSkills & Abilities:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesBusiness acumenSelf-starter with the ability to work independentlyProficiency with MRP systemsGreen belt or Lean methodology knowledge preferredKnowledge of Quality processes and requirementsEffective in working with large datasetMust be able to travel national and internationallyMust be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorshipLeadership skills / Management skills / Personal skills:Strong influencing skills with the ability to gain alignment and consensusBe able to effectively and efficiently navigate across the organizationAbility to delegate effectively and efficientlyStrong communication skills and persistence in driving high performanceMust be able to make the \"tough choice\" when confronted with complex decisions and demonstrate flexibility resolving issuesExperience evaluating personnel job performance, providing constructive feedback to team members as needed, addressing disciplinary concerns, hiring, dismissals, etc.Accountability This position is under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and must meet export control compliance requirements.
