The Process Control Engineer also helps maintenance and operations personnel develop their problem-solving and process management skills. This position is eligible for a relocation package.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nMaintain production instrumentation and controls systems.\n\nRespond to departmental requests for changes in existing systems/equipment to modify/enhance equipment to obtain desired results in a safe and cost effective manner.\n\nManage the paper mill’s Distributed Controls Systems with an emphasis on optimizing the system for improved operational efficiency.\n\nProvide support and troubleshooting for the manufacturing data collection systems.\n\nAssist operational leaders in troubleshooting efforts.\n\nIdentify cost reduction opportunities and support cost reduction efforts.\n\nUtilize our processes to improve overall efficiency of mill operations, increase productivity and enhance cost effectiveness of operations.\n\nAssess process effectiveness, identify potential process improvements and help implement solutions.\n\nAll other assignments assigned by management.\n\nThis is not an exhaustive list of duties or functions and may not necessarily comprise all the “essential functions” for purposes of the ADA.\n\nAttend appropriate meetings, produce necessary communications and documentation, plan and arrange maintenance and project activities, etc.\n\nInteract with contractors and vendors to obtain quotes and proposals, utilize support, arrange and procure services and materials.\n\nQualifications\n\nApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.\n\nDegree in one of the following: Process Controls, Electrical Engineering, Automation & Industrial Controls, Instrumentation.\n\nMinimum of 2-5 years’ experience in a Process Control Engineer or similar role in an industrial setting.\n\nReliability improvement experience with a history of exposure to continuous improvement tools.\n\nPulp and paper mill experience is preferred.\n\nExperience with DCS / QCS systems is desired.\n\nExperience with Proficy or other data historian systems desired.\n\nRegular attendance at work is required. Ability to work additional hours during the week, on weekends, or outside of regular office hours is also required. Weekend and holiday coverage is provided as-needed in a rotation with other peers.\n\nThe ability to work in a typical production environment to include: sitting or standing for long periods of time, walking, climbing, reaching and bending, lifting and carrying loads not over 50 lbs.
