Powder Coat Painter, 2nd Shift

Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionThe Powder Coat Painter is primarily responsible for spray painting. This includes verifying work orders for coating requirements.Essential Job Responsibilities Not Limited ToPreparing: Pretreating, cleaning, masking, and priming partsApplying: Spraying powder coat onto surfacesInspecting: Performing quality checks, including first piece, in-process, and final inspectionsMaintaining: Adjusting sprayer valves and nozzles, and maintaining and organizing the powder storage roomOther: Loading and unloading parts, changing hanging patterns onto the carts. Then moving carts in and out of the ovenRequirementsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to read and interpret shop drawingsBasic math knowledge which includes the use of measuring toolsFamiliar with mixing process of paint colorsOperate a forkliftCompetenciesAbility to work in an environment that produces excellent quality and quantity workAbility to organize and prioritize jobsAbility to communicate – verbally and writtenPhysical Requirements/Work EnvironmentAble to stand for long periods of timeAble to lift, push, and pull 25 pounds unassistedTypical machine shop environment.Willing and able to work additional hours as needed to ensure responsibilities are met.Willing to be cross trained on different machinesMinimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or GEDShop experience spray paintingExperience in disassembling spray gun and cleaning out lines, operating forklift and overhead craneAt VMC Group we believe in supporting our employees both professionally and personally.
