Network Engineer

Position Title: Network EngineerLocation Information: Santa Clara, CAPosition Responsibilities:Engineers on the Region Networking NQT team will support the Network Qualification of devices and software for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This role will require a deep understanding of hardware and software testing, networking at the protocol level, and programming skills. Day-to-day responsibilities include:Using existing procedures and tools to test new hardware, optics, protocols, and softwareDeveloping scripts to automate routine tasks for the team and business unitsCoordinating with networking automation services for the development and integration of support toolingBuilding dashboards to represent data at various network layers and device roles to identify network issues and anomaliesCollaborating with network vendor technical account team and internal qualification and test team to drive bug resolution and assist in the qualification of new firmware and/or operating systemsCollaborating with program/project managers to develop milestones and deliverables Essential Skills & ExperienceBachelor's degree in CS or related engineering field with 3+ years of Network Engineering experienceExperience working in a large ISP or cloud provider environmentExperience working in a network test engineer roleKnowledge of protocols such as MPLS, BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, and DHCP. Experience with VxLAN and EVPN is a plus.Experience with scripting or automation and data center design, Python preferredExperience with network modeling and programming, including YANG, OpenConfig, and NETCONFAbility to use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues, capable of working under limited supervisionExcellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skillsExcellent judgment in influencing product roadmap direction, features, and priorities
